Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective September 15, 2026
This policy explains how Vita handles your information. Vita is a product of Renkara Media Group, Inc. ("Renkara," "we," "us"), which is responsible for your information under this policy. It covers the Vita app at vita.app.renkara.com, the Vita API, and this website, vita.renkara.com.
The short version
- Your profile is yours. We use your resume and career data to provide Vita to you: building your profile and generating your documents.
- We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI models.
- Vita never sends your resume to employers. You download or copy your documents and send them yourself.
- AI features run on an open-weight model hosted by a U.S. company, DeepInfra, which does not store your content or train on it (section 4).
- You can see, correct, export, and delete your information (section 8).
1. What we collect
Account information. Your name and email address, and either a password (stored only as a salted hash) or an identifier from the sign-in provider you choose.
Your career content. The resume files you upload, the text extracted from them, the profile Vita builds from that text (jobs, bullets, skills, education, certifications, projects, publications, awards, patents, languages, volunteer work, consulting engagements, affiliations, and summaries), the tags and settings you apply, the job descriptions you paste, and the resumes and cover letters Vita generates, including your edits.
Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, plan, and billing history, plus the card brand, last four digits, and expiration date. We never receive or store your full card number.
Technical information. When you use Vita, our servers record standard log data: IP address, browser and device type, the pages and features you use, timestamps, and errors. We use it to run, secure, and fix the service.
Messages to us. If you contact support, we keep the conversation.
This website. vita.renkara.com has no forms and sets no cookies. It saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, and it loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser information when the page loads. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.
2. How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide Vita: store your profile, compose and tailor your documents, and let you export them.
- Run Vita's AI features: extracting a profile from an uploaded resume and tailoring documents to a job description (section 4).
- Process payments, prevent fraud, and manage your subscription.
- Send service messages, such as receipts, security alerts, and notices about changes to these policies. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- Keep Vita secure and reliable: detecting abuse, investigating problems, and measuring performance in aggregate.
- Meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use your career content to train AI models, or show it to employers, recruiters, or anyone else.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to perform our contract with you (providing Vita and billing you), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and service improvement, balanced against your rights), to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How Vita's AI works with your data
Vita's AI features run on DeepSeek V4 Flash, an open-weight language model. We run it through DeepInfra, Inc., a U.S. AI infrastructure company that hosts the model on its own servers. Your content is not sent to DeepSeek, the company that published the model.
What we send. When you upload a resume, we send the text extracted from it; we never send the original file. When you tailor to a job, we send the relevant parts of your profile and the job description you pasted. We send only what a request needs, and only when you ask Vita to do something.
What DeepInfra does with it. DeepInfra's published data policy states that it does not store inference inputs or outputs to disk, does not use them to train models, and generally does not log their content. It records request metadata, and it reserves the right to log a small portion of requests for debugging or security.
What we do with the result. The model's output is checked against Vita's data format before anything is saved. Anything that doesn't fit is set aside for your review instead of being written into your profile.
5. Who else receives your information
We share information only with service providers that help us run Vita, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service to us:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, and databases, in the United States.
- DeepInfra, Inc. — AI model inference (section 4).
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing.
- Our email delivery provider — account and billing messages.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Renkara. Renkara is a U.S. company, so U.S. authorities can compel disclosure under U.S. law, including the CLOUD Act. If Renkara is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and career content while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, uploads, and generated documents from our live systems within 30 days, and residual copies in backups expire within a further 60 days. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and log data for up to 90 days unless we need it longer to investigate a security issue.
7. How we protect it
Vita encrypts data in transit with TLS, and our cloud provider encrypts it at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Your rights and choices
- See and correct. Your whole profile is visible in the app. Correct anything there, or email privacy@renkara.com and we will correct it for you.
- Export. Download any document as HTML, Markdown, plain text, or JSON at any time. For a copy of everything we hold about you, email privacy@renkara.com.
- Delete. Delete your account from your account settings, or email privacy@renkara.com and we will delete it for you. See section 6 for what happens next.
- California residents can request to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share it. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.
- EEA and UK residents also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability, and may complain to their local data protection authority.
Send requests to privacy@renkara.com. We respond within 30 days, or within the time your local law allows, and we may need to verify your identity first.
9. Where your information is processed
Vita is operated from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. When the law requires a transfer mechanism for information leaving the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful basis.
10. Children
Vita is for adults. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The version and effective date at the top of this page always reflect the current policy.
